Leyla Güven is sent to prison

DİYARBAKIR – Detained after being given a 22 years and 3 months prison sentence, DTK Co-chair Leyla Güven was sent to Diyarbakır Women's Closed Prison.

Standing trial for the speeches she made as the Co-chair of Democratic Society Congress (DTK) at the 9th Diyarbakır High Criminal Court, Leyla Güven was sentenced to 22 years and 3 months in prison. 
 
Many politicians who did not leave Güven alone, including DTK Co-chair Berdan Öztürk and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır came to the courthouse.
 
Güven spoke to her friends while being taken away, and said: "No problem. Work hard so that we can get out soon."
 
56 year old Kurdish politician Güven was later sent to Diyarbakır Women's Closed Prison.
