ISTANBUL - Musicians and wedding hosts detained at a wedding in Esenyurt were released after giving their statements.
Police raided a wedding in the Pınar Neighborhood of Esenyurt, Istanbul, on August 10 and detained 8 people, including the wedding hosts and musicians, on the grounds that they were dancing the halay to Kurdish songs.
Five of the 8 people who were charged with “making propaganda for a terrorist organization” were released after giving their statements at the Kıraç Police Station.
3 musicians who were referred to the prosecutor’s office after giving their statements were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace on Duty with a request to be released on probation.
The court implemented the prosecutor’s decision and released the 3 musicians on probation.
