WAN - Speaking at the protest in Wan, attended by tens of thousands of people, Leyla Zana said: "Today is the day of resistance. We do not accept this unlawfulness and oppression committed against you. No one can approach the will of the Kurds lightly."

 

Protests against not being given a certificate of election Abdullah Zeydan, who was elected as Co-Mayor of the Wan Metropolitan Municipality of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) continue. Tens of thousands of people came together in Feqiyê Teyran Park in the city center.

 

DEMIRTAS: WE ARE HONORED WITH YOU

 

Başak Demirtaş spoke after DEM Party Co-Chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları. Demirtaş said: "We are here to say how honored and proud we are in the face of this will of the people of Van, and to bow respectfully to this will. Both Selahattin (Selahattin Demirtaş) and Selçuk Mızraklı sent their greetings and love to the people of Van. Selahattin president said, 'If you go to Wan, say that the people of Van honored us and made us proud by making 14 out of 14.’ We know that no power can stand against this honorable will."

Politician Leyla Zana made the following call: "Wan is the crown jewel of the Kurds and Kurdistan. I congratulate your stance and will. Mahmut Tanal from the CHP delegation said: "I brought the solidarity message of our Chair Ozgür Ozel. There is a trap here. AKP has committed a crime here. 85 million people need to file a criminal complaint for this."

TIP Chair Erkan Baş said: “We will all resist together against those who try to usurp the will of the Kurds by pressure and force. Today, not only your will but also the will of the whole of Turkey is being mortgaged. We see this attack as an attack on everyone. We will continue our struggle until Zeydan gets the certificate of election."

 

ASLAN: WE WILL NOT SURRENDER

 

EMEK Party Chair Seyit Aslan said: "We will never surrender to this usurpation. Kurds and Turks will act together against the palace coup. We want the will of the people of Van to be respected. The will of the Kurds and Turks will win against the one-man rule in this country. This regime will be overthrown."

 

OZTURK: WE DO NOT ACCEPT THIS OPPRESSION

 

EHP President Hakan Oztürk used the following statements: "We came here to walk the same path with you. Elections have been held in this country for 150 years and now this election is being prevented. This is a persecution of the Kurds and we do not accept it. Kurds, you will never walk alone."

TOB Spokesperson Pelin Kahiloğulları said: "The AKP-MHP government is committing a crime. The AKP-MHP alliance will be defeated and we will win."

Wan Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Neslihan Sedal said: "This honor is the honor of the Wan people, women and young people. Our people have been resisting for two days and we continue to resist. We call out to the AKP candidate; If you have a little dignity and honor, you will not accept that certificate of election and respect the will of the people."
