HDP İskenderun District Co-chair arrested

HATAY - HDP İskenderun District Co-Chair Hülya Ateş who was detained for social media posts was arrested on charges of "membership of an organization".

 
People's Democratic Party İskenderun District Co-chair Hülya Ateş, Socialist Refoundation Party (SYKP) Co-chair HülyaHatay Province Executive Belgin Ayrancı and Journalist Burcu Özkaya Günaydın was talen into custody for criticizing the Syria operation on social media. 
 
Ateş who were taken to İskenderun District Security Directorate, was referred to court with the accusation of 'being a member to an illegal organization', and was arrested by the court. 
 
HDP District Co-chair Nevzat Güzel who reacted to Ateş's arrest said: "Their only crime is to be against war. We condemn it. It is not a crime to be against the war. No constitution ever declared being against war a crime."
