RIHA - Young people marching to Amara reached Curne Reş district of Riha.
The march organised by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party Youth Assembly from Amed (Diyarbakır) to Amara neighbourhood of Riha's (Urfa) Xelfetî (Halfeti) district on the 76th birthday of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues on its second day. The march organised by the youth with the slogan "We Walk to Freedom with Democratic Society" reached Curne Reş district of Riha.
The young people who stayed in Sêwereg (Siverek) district, where they arrived yesterday evening, visited the cemetery in the morning. The youth, including DEM Party MPs Zeki İrmez and Onur Düşünmez, first visited the cemetery for orphans and then the grave of Mahmut Zengin, who lost his life on 18 May 1982 in Diyarbakır Type E Prison as a result of the protest he carried out with Ferhat Kurtay, Necmi Öner and Eşref Anyık. Speaking on behalf of the DEM Party Youth Assembly, Muhsin Aydoğdu said, "Patriotic youth will follow the path of him and his comrades."
Afterwards, the youth marched towards the exit of the district. During the march, slogans such as "Youth is Apo's sacrifice", "Jin, jiyan, azadî azad dike Rebertî (Woman, life, freedom will free Leader)", "Rojbuna te piroz be ey Serok Apo (Happy birthday Leader Apo)" were frequently chanted. Ending the march at the exit of the district, the youth travelled to Curne Rêş in vehicles. It is planned to organise a march after reaching the district.
