ISTANBUL - The prosecutor in the "Operation Return to Life" trial demanded punishment for 194 soldiers on the charge of "willful murder".
The trial of the operation carried out by the then government against the prisoners in prisons under the name of "Return to Life" in which 30 prisoners lost their lives continues. The trial of 194 soldiers related to the operation to Bayrampaşa Prison in Istanbul on 19 December 2000, in which 12 prisoners were killed, continued at Bakırköy 13th High Criminal Court. During the hearing, the prosecution presented its final opinion to the court. In its final opinion, the prosecution pointed to the reports, witness statements and other evidence and demanded sentence for all defendants on the charge of "willful murder".
Defence lawyers requested time to prepare their defence against the final opinion. The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing to 30 June.
