NEWS CENTER - Calling for the "Freedom" rally to be held in Amed on 8 February, politicians said that the Kurdish issue can be solved with Abdullah Öcalan's paradigm.

The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) will organise a rally with the slogan "Freedom for Peace" on 8 February at İstasyon Square in Yenişehir district of Amed (Diyarbakır). Co-chairs of DBP and DEM Party are expected to attend the rally and give messages on the solution of the Kurdish issue. Work for the rally, which will also include participation from regional cities continues door to door.

DBP Sêrt Provincial Co-Chair Mustafa Dayanan, one of the organisers, said that important messages will be given at the rally in the context of the developments in the Middle East and the debates in Turkey. Dayanan pointed out that a period has entered in which the Kurdish issue will be solved and the Kurds will be granted status and said, "In this context, we will crown our approach to the evolution of the talks into negotiations with this rally."

Reminding the calls made by Abdullah Öcalan, Dayanan pointed out that the problem can only be solved with Abdullah Öcalan's paradigm and said, "In this sense, we say that all peoples should unite around this perspective and paradigm and that this is the way to salvation. We say that all peoples other than Kurdish people should also support the rally and in this sense take the statements of Mr Abdullah Öcalan as a basis. Salvation is really close. Everyone should participate in this rally on this basis."

Dayanan emphasised that the people should approach and participate in the rally as a step towards a solution and added, "We want our people to approach this rally with the awareness that it is a process of turning the dialogue process into negotiations and we expect them to fill the square to the brim that day. We have entered a process that needs to be embraced in this way."

DEMOCRACY AND LAW

DEM Party Sêrt Provincial Co-Chair Rewşan Arslan stated that they will attend the rally to be held in Amed on 8 February as Sêrt people. Rewşan Arslan said, "The Kurdish people have been struggling for years. The Kurdish people have only one voice. The Kurdish people want freedom, peace, democracy and law. The Kurdish people want the isolation of Mr Abdullah Öcalan to be lifted and for him to be liberated." Rewşan Arslan emphasised the importance of the rally and invited everyone to the rally.

Cahide Orak, who participated in the rally in Peyas (Kayapınar) district of Amed, said that she participated in the rally as a citizen who wants peace. Underlining that the rally is important for peace, Cahide Orak said, "We can express our demands together with the people in the squares. There has been war in our country for years, so we need to meet at the peace rally. It would be better if we are intertwined with our people in this process for this peace to happen. We invite all our people to the peace rally both for the Kurdish problem and for democracy."
