The protest against the appointment of Siirt Governor Kemal Kızılkaya as trustee to replace Sêrt (Siirt) Municipality co-mayors Sofya Alağaş and Mehmet Kaysi continues in the city. The mass gathered in Gap Neighbourhood and after the halay dance, they marched to join the watch demonstration in front of the municipality. The mass marched to the front of the municipality with the banner "Trustee is a blow to the will of the people" and the slogans "Bijî berxwedan Tişrîn (Long live resistance of Tishreen)", "Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live resistance of Rojava)", "Bijî berxwedana gele Kurd (Long live resistance of the Kurdish people)", "We will win if we resist" and "Jin jiyan azadî (Woman, life, freedom)".

 

The march of thousands of people was supported by the tradesmen in the city with applause, cheers, victory signs and slogans.

 

When they arrived in front of the municipality, the masses reacted to the trustee with the slogans "Get out of Kurdistan with almond moustache", "Thief trustee", "The trustees will go, the peoples will come". The mass then started a vigil.

Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Adana Provincial Organization made a statement in İnönü Park against the appointment of a trustee to Sêrt Municipality. "Trustee system is a coup against democracy. No to the coup on democracy" banner was unfurled and representatives of political parties and civil society organizations in the city attended the statement.

 

DEM Party Adana Provincial Co-Chair Seyfettin Aydemir reacted against the usurpation of will and said, "The government does not stop attacking the will of the people; it insists on coup, usurpation and theft of will. As the Kurdish people, we will not get used to will usurpation and coups. We will defend the will of the people everywhere. We call on all segments to joint struggle against the usurpation of will."

 

The statement ended with a sit-in protest.
