AMED - The release of Mehmet Salih Erden, a 30 year prisoner in Elazığ Type F High Security Prison, has been extended by 6 months.
Mehmet Salih Erden, a 30 year prisoner in Elazığ Type F High Security Prison, was expected to be released on January 11. In his weekly phone call with his family yesterday, Erden said that his release was extended by 6 months because he refused to accept the "remorse" imposition.
WHO IS MEHMET SALIH ERDEN?
Mehmet Salih Erden was detained in 1995 in Hezex (İdil) district of Şirnex (Şırnak) province. He was tried at the State Security Court (DGM) and sentenced to life imprisonment. Erden, whose release was postponed, was imprisoned for 30 years in prisons such as Amed (Diyarbakır), Ordu, Sêrt (Siirt), Erzirom (Erzurum), Oltu and Gümüşhane.
Erden is being held in Elazığ Type F High Security Prison.
