NEWS CENTER - Speaking at the Peace Watch, Öztürk Türkdoğan emphasised the Kurdish issue and said :"You will make peace with whomever you are fighting. When you wage war, you experience crises more severely."

The Peace Watch action, organized by the Human Rights Association (İHD) on the first Friday of every month, continues. Many rights defenders attended the vigil at İHD branches.

THE SATURDAY MOTHERS

During the watch at the İHD Ankara Branch, İHD Ankara Branch Co-chair Sevil Turgut took the floor and said: "Human rights defenders cannot be prosecuted. The government is trying to criminalize human rights defenders by targeting them. The Saturday Mothers' protests are being blocked every week. The state, which should fulfill its obligation to judge and punish by regulating enforced disappearance as a crime, instead targets those who continue their search for truth and justice. Our Peace Watch today; We hold it for all our fellow travelers who paid a price in the struggle for human rights, for Saturday Mothers who did not give up their search for truth and justice despite all the pressures.”

THE WAR OF TURKEY

Stating that they are carrying out and will continue a long-term struggle for a democratic solution to the Kurdish question, Öztürk Türkdoğan, the former Co-Chair of the İHD said: “The statements made by our friend Vetha in Siirt are statements made to bring peace to this country. Democratization of this country should not be expected before peace comes to this country. Everyone is talking about the economic crisis. These are related to war. If you follow a rent policy in a war environment, the economic crisis will deepen. When you wage war, you experience crises more severely. If we are fighting against torture and freedom of expression, we will continue to fight for economic rights. But all this exposed the demand for peace. Whoever you fight, you will make peace with them. There has been an uninterrupted state of conflict and war for 8 years. Even though the government carries out this process with repression policies, we will continue to say peace.”
