İZMİR - Cemal Tanhan, who was released after suffering a stroke, has been struggling to survive in intensive care for 39 days.

Cemal Tanhan (68), a seriously ill prisoner for 30 years who has been detained in Bolu Type F Closed Prison, was taken to Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital after he had a stroke on October 23, and from there he was transferred to the General Surgery Department of Eskişehir City Hospital on October 27. The treatment of Tanhan, whose release was decided on November 6, has been continuing in the intensive care unit for 39 days.

Tanhan, who has stage four cancer, has spread throughout his body. Tanhan, who lost his ability to speak during the treatment process, also had pneumonia and blisters in his lungs.

His daughter, Ayşe Tanhan, stated that they met with her father's doctor about his health on November 27. Ayşe Tanhan said: "The doctor said, 'We removed the water accumulated in his lungs. We will change the medications he takes. If the treatment goes well, we will try to wake him up. This way, maybe we can transfer him.' But my father has been receiving treatment for a long time. His condition is getting worse every day because he is in prison. His treatment for the disease started late. Maybe if he had been treated early and had been outside, he would not have become like this,"
