Makhmur delegation detained 2025-05-15 08:29:57   NEWS CENTER - Makhmur People's Assembly delegation was detained on their return to Baghdad.    A delegation from the Makhmur (Mexmûr) People's Assembly had travelled to Baghdad against the embargo against the camp. The delegation was detained on their way back after meeting with the Ministry of Justice.   Makhmur People's Assembly Co-chair Filiz Budak stated that they had requested a meeting with the Ministry of Justice to resolve the problems of identity and embargo on the camp residents. Budak stated that the Ministry responded to this request and the meeting took place, and announced that the delegation was detained during their return to Baghdad.    Filiz Budak stated that 3 people were detained.   The Iraqi government has imposed an embargo on Makhmur since 10 April. Construction and infrastructure materials are not allowed to enter the camp. Workers are prevented from travelling to Baghdad and their ID cards are not renewed.
